Join us for an incredible fishing adventure in the inshore waters of North Carolina. On these charters we will specifically be targeting trophy sized Redfish as they move into shallower waters from the middle of summer until the fall. North Carolina and specifically the waters we fish are home to a huge chunk of world record Redfish. There is no better place to target these fish than in the waters. During this time of the year, we also have spawning Tarpon as a bonus! Let's get you hooked up! License is covered by Captain Dave.

My buddy and I are avid fishermen and had a fantastic trip and time with Captain Dave Hegel fishing for Old Drum on the Neuse during our two day charter! I can't say enough good things about him. He put us on the bait and fish both days, and covered a very large area. We had a blast! Other than his extensive knowledge of the river, fish and ecosystem, he was very personable and just a great, fun guy to fish with. He was very patient, going above and beyond to make sure our trip was a great experience. I have my own boat, but it's not worth the money and trouble/time pulling to the coast when I can simply pack a bag and meet him at the dock for a great day of fishing. I plan to book at least two trips with him next year, and every year thereafter. He'd be great with kids as well. Worth every penny!! Want to thank him personally for everything!!

Chase the legendary Neuse River "Old Drum" on an afternoon to twilight trip. Captain Dave Hegel lives on the Neuse River and has been fishing his home waters since 1984. Home to 18 of 24 IFGA World Records for Redfish, the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound offers world class trophy Redfish as they come from the Atlantic Ocean to spawn from July till late October. Afternoon trips can be VERY productive when they move towards the shoal edges to feed at dusk. Fish from 3:00pm until sunset using a variety of methods from chasing bait balls with popping corks to soaking cut bait on shoal edges.

The Neuse River is home to one of the most productive trophy Redfish waters in the United States. 18 out of 24 IGFA World Records for Redfish are from these waters. Tarpon also start arriving in late June and often overlap with the arriving "Old Drum" or Bulls. Therefore, it is not unheard of to have a double day of both species. Consequently, while chasing Old Drum, Captain Dave will always have a Tarpon rig ready to go. Some days you can witness 25 Tarpon rolling in the river. Year round we offer, Sea Trout, Slot Drum, Striper, Flounder and other species. License Included!

Just another fantastic day out on the water with Capt Dave we started out with lots of bites and caught a big Bluefish early on then the bite quit but the Capt never gave up on trying to land some fish we tried lots of spots and techniques but they just smart biting so he moved onto another area and then the bike was on. We caught over a dozen bluefish and ended the day with another awesome fishing trip with Captain Dave. Thank you.
